Officer's Quarters at Fort Richardson State Park

Fort Richardson Officer’s Quarters

Built in 1867 of lumber cut from cottonwoods growing in nearby river bottoms. One of five original Officer’s Quarters. Outlasted fort’s barracks and stables, which were built of small vertical timbers(pickets).
The architectural style is typical of 19th century Army Posts in the West.
This one is the only one left standing in the U.S.
